State Preschool Programs get kids ready for school
California State Preschool serves children age three to five in a center-based program that gets them ready to start kindergarten. All programs support learning, health, nutrition, parent participation, and students with disabilities. Your child will build math and reading skills, as well as social skills through engaging with other children. All state preschool programs are free and include healthy snacks and meals.
Preschool gets kids ready for school and sets them up for success throughout their life. Studies show that kids who go to preschool are more likely to graduate high school and be employed when they grow up.
Care and Education with General Child Care Programs
In our center-based General Child Care and Development program, children from birth to age three receive year-round care in your neighborhood. We support early learning programs that help get kids ready for preschool, kindergarten, and beyond. We also support children with disabilities and encourage good health, proper nutrition, and parent participation. In this program, your infant or toddler is cared for by certified teachers who will help them learn and grow.
The Classroom and Beyond
In addition to early childhood education, State Preschool and General Child Care programs support and serve the whole family. We offer extra services like help with nutrition, making sure every child is getting regular health care by connecting you with resources in your community.
Family Services – Our staff works with you to identify your family’s needs. We not only help connect you with the appropriate community resources, we also follow up to ensure those resources fulfill your needs.
Health Services – Taking care of your child’s medical health is key to their success. We’ll work with you to make sure your child receives regular check-ups and connect you to free or affordable resources. We make getting the care they need a priority.
Nutrition – A healthy diet helps children learn and develop better. We provide healthy meals and snacks and connect families with nutritional resources in the community.
Special Needs – We work with every child to understand their unique needs. Children of all abilities are welcomed, supported, and included in all activities in the classroom or home. Our staff will also help connect your family to the additional resources that can best support your child.
