We give children and families the head start they deserve!

Head Start is not just an early education program for children and their families. Head Start helps children of all abilities build the skills they need to succeed in school and life.

The Los Angeles County Office of Education Head Start and Early Learning Division offers a tuition-free comprehensive early learning program for children under five and their families. We partner with families, communities, and providers to give children of all abilities the skills to succeed in school and life. Head Start serves the whole child by providing healthy meals, nutrition, education, social skills, vision and hearing screenings, and resources that support the entire family’s health and well-being. A great Head Start experience is just a click away!

Head Start leads to positive and strong growth in vocabulary and the ability to understand spoken or written language.
