Our Policy Council Representatives have been busy supporting the division in various activities. We want to thank our Policy Council members and our office assistants for their support of LACOE HSEL’s ECEvolution Conference!
On March 11-12, 2024, five of our Policy Council Executive Committee members participated in the Head Start to the Capitol Advocacy Day in Sacramento, participating in a training organized by Head Start California and meeting with staff in 12 legislators’ offices. Our Policy Council participants shared their experiences and the impact that our Head Start programs have had for them and their families. The parents did a wonderful job and were able to connect with several DAs as well. Several are in front of the Capitol, then there’s one with a State Senator and two with legislative staffers. In addition to LACOE and our PC members, staff from NLMUSD, BCC, and PLN are in one or more photos.
We are excited to announce that Morgan Cardenas from Plaza de La Raza was elected Policy Council Executive Committee Treasurer.
Lastly, we would like to congratulate Irene Cano on being elected Policy Council Executive Committee Vice Chairperson.
