On January 17, we will recognize exceptional early educators from our Head Start and Early Head Start programs with the ninth annual Golden Apple Awards.
The Universal Pre-Kindergarten Career Development Initiative (UPK-CDI) is creating innovative career development opportunities for both current and aspiring educators—including parents—to become assistant teachers, lead teachers, or early learning leaders.
Finally, most exciting of all, the Office of Head Start has encouraged and provided strategies to permanently increase staff compensation and supports. Now, LACOE and all of our delegate agencies are working diligently to do so as quickly and sustainably as we can. Early educators give their best to our children each day, and they deserve to be compensated fairly.
