The 2nd Annual Male Engagement Conference held on November 2nd was sponsored by LACOE and the Los Angeles County Male Engagement Collaborative. The conference provided parents and staff with workshops on strengthening marriages and co-parenting, how to respond in the event of an active shooter, how to get children to eat healthy and learn good nutrition habits, stress and substance abuse, and how to heal internal wounds.  Fathers gathered in the “man cave” to discuss the importance of being a father and how to engage with their children on a daily basis.

Presenters included Alexander Khananashvili, MD, Sergeant Kevin Phillips of Santa Ana PD, best-selling author Thomas Gagliano, and Juan Garcia, PSyD.  For information on the conference or presenters, please contact Sandra Ybanez at or (562) 469-4521.
