Exciting things are happening with the UPK-CDI Pathways! Our first group of students is nearing completion of the Assistant Teacher Pathway. These students have taken college courses through Waldorf University, UCLA Career Bridge Extension, or West LA Community College. They have earned nine or more ECE units, gained hands-on experience by training in our Head Start classrooms, and are ready to become Assistant Teachers. Amazingly, 43 new ECE professionals are prepared to start their careers and provide services to children and families at our delegate agencies!

In addition, we have launched a second cohort of the Assistant Teacher Pathway and started the Associate Teacher, Teacher, and TK Teacher pathways. Thank you to all LACOE delegate agencies for spreading the word about UPK-CDI Pathways to your families and staff. Your support has helped make the Career Development Initiative a success. For more information, please contact the WDPL program manager, Dr. Angela Capone, at capone_angela@lacoe.edu.
