On May 17, 2023, our Policy Council (PC) representatives Ana Vasquez, Sandra Rodriguez, Yvonne Cotroneo, and Cynthia Barboza participated in the Family Services and Home Visitors Institute. They were able to share their experiences with Family Service Workers and Head Start and Early Head Start programs.
A big thank you to our Family and Community Engagement Consultants Guadalupe Villanueva and Gabriela Abarca and Training and Technical Assistance Specialist Lee Ho.
The PC Education and Transition Committee Chair, Sandra Rodriguez, presented on summer activities for children and families during the June PC meeting. PC members were encouraged to work with their agency to search for events in their communities that promote school readiness and share the information with families.
We had our first in-person summer Policy Council meeting of the year. The Governance team had raffles for different giveaways (pajamas, books, Legos, etc.). Thank you to Dr. Sandra Williams, Program Design and Effectiveness Assistant Director, and Hazel Naal, Inclusive ECE Program Manager, for providing contributions for our giveaways. We also want to thank Dr. Yvonne Chan for the wonderful two years as our Board Liaison.
