How did you learn about Early Head Start/Head Start?
I discovered St. Anne’s when I was driving and saw an ad for the Early Intervention Program. I called and set up an appointment. When I visited the center, I realized that it was just what I was looking for, for my children. A safe place and somewhere where they could receive age-appropriate education and guidance.
Why did you choose Early Head Start/Head Start?
This program is well suited and designed to provide children with the education they need based on their age. It covers all the physical, emotional, social, and nutritional aspects of their education and, most importantly, the staff are properly trained to work with children from birth to five years of age.
How has your agency supported you with your children’s learning?
St. Anne’s has supported my children with their different therapy needs and administering their medications. During the pandemic, my children were provided with all the materials required to learn from home and were supported through Zoom sessions and teacher calls.
How has your agency supported you with your personal goals?
St. Anne’s has given me the opportunity to get a better job and continue my education. Above all, they helped me improve my self-esteem and regain my trust in myself.
What advice would you give to another parent looking for a school for their infant/toddler?
To enroll their babies in the early learning and intervention program. It is a comprehensive program and is not a day care center. It is a school for children from birth to five years of age, where their child will grow and learn with trained teachers.
