On March 23, 2023, LACOE staff and Policy Council representatives traveled to Sacramento to participate in training provided by Head Start California and discuss early learning priorities with state legislators. HSEL is grateful to LACOE Governmental Relations for arranging and facilitating the meetings, and to the Chief Education Officer for her leadership and support in amplifying the Head Start voice.
Productive, positive meetings were held with staff of Senators Susan Rubio and Anthony Portantino, Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon, and Assembly Members Miguel Santiago, Al Muratsuchi, and Sharon Quirk-Silva. Thanks to the Policy Council members for sharing their heartfelt experiences to make a real difference!
